Dr. Bray’s employment at SFA began in 2001 as a poultry science graduate assistant under Dr. Tim Cherry. In 2002, during the construction of the SFASU Broiler Research Center, Dr. Bray was selected to be Manager of the Broiler Research Center. His duties as manager consisted of producing commercial broiler chickens for Pilgrim’s Pride Corporation, conducting poultry research, research data analysis, generating research reports, managing student assistants, and overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Broiler Research Center. In 2006, Dr. Bray took over as the Director of Poultry Research Facilities at SFA. As Director of Poultry Research Facilities, Dr. Bray is responsible for both the Broiler Research Center and Poultry Research Center for the Department of Agriculture. Dr. Bray is responsible for all poultry related research that is conducted at SFA. Research emphases include but are not limited to poultry management practices, disease management, nutritional feed additives, and litter amendments. Dr. Bray is currently the Director of the SFASU Poultry Science Program.

Dr. Bray is the Faculty Advisor for the SFASU Poultry Science Club.

Dr. Bray is married to his beautiful wife, Cathryn, and they have two wonderful kids, Madilyn and Blake. Cathryn is an alumnus of SFA and teaches 1st grade in Nacogdoches.
