2010 Nacogdoches Azalea Trail Events at the Ruby M. Mize Azalea Garden
Nacogdoches Azalea Trail Symposium: Azaleas and More—Camellias as Companion Plants (Saturday, March 13th, 2010) 8:30 a.m.-3:00 p.m. -The symposium focuses on using colorful camellias as accents in azalea gardens—“A Passion for Camellias” by Dr. William Welch, from Texas A&M Horticulture will present the many benefits of adding fall-blooming Camellia sasanqua and spring-blooming Camellia japonica to residential azalea gardens. Lunch is provided, followed by tips on pruning camellias, propagating azaleas, and a guided tour of the SFA Ruby M. Mize Azalea Garden by Barbara Stump and Dr. Welch. Held at the Stephen F. Austin State University Agriculture Building. Co-sponsored by SFA Mast Arboretum and the Texas Chapter of the Azalea Society of America. Fee $30 to SFA Gardens members; $40 to non-members.
