The Agricultural Mechanics Building is comprised of four major areas, those being a classroom and two office rooms, a small engine laboratory, a four bay tractor area, and a main shop which is a combination metal and wood working area. The total square footage of all four areas is approximately 7,500 square feet.
The main office also serves as a club meeting area for the weekly club meetings of the Agriculture Technology Club. The other office is smaller and hosts a computer station.
The small engines laboratory has seven individual work areas, each with its own tool set for laboratory use. It also has a "start up" room with a vented hood. This room also has a small metal lathe and has shelves for spare engine parts. The entire area is air conditioned.
The four bay tractor area has a separate tool/storage room and also has individual exhaust boot pick-ups for each tractor bay. Each bay has an outside entrance with 10' x 8' overhead doors.
The main shop has seven arc welding stations with a 250 amp, AC/DC welder in each. An eight station gas welding/cutting area is adjacent to the arc welding area. It is a manifold system with outside gas access. The welding area has numerous pedestal grinders, metal cutoff saws, milling machines, drill presses, and a hydraulic shear, as well as an area for project construction. The main shop also has a wood working area with a radial arm saw, table saw, joiner, bandsaw, drill press, and wood lathe. Benches and floor space are available for construction. The ventilation system for the main shop is traditional fans and windows.
